Technics pitch fader problems....

Rite! I just bought serato scratch live and the program kept sounding a litle funny and the sound was distorted due to me accidently snapping a ground wire on my decks. So i oppened the base and changed the ground wire but then accidently snapped the pitch fader (i no wot a tard). so i bought a new pitch fader solderd it in. But now the deck only goes to -5 and when moving the pitch fader up or down its more of a curve change in pitch rather then a gradual straight change in pitch. Ive messed around with both the potientmeter bot next to the pitch fader and the blue pot under the platter i c
cnt seem to get rid of the curve and make the minus side go below -5?! I can however make the other side go higher than +8. What rong?!
