With respect it sounds as if you are commenting on a genre of music you dont fully understand. its not the sheer volume or loudness that these valve sounds aspire to, its the unique feel that is gained from running valves. go and check the reggae sound system of Jah Shaka, your body is literally moving with the warmth of the bass while you can still talk clearly with the person next to you- quality. fed up with getting my ears damaged by too loud, poor quality in house club rigs. highnessroots.co.uk, roots rules

Sound Engineers take on Valve |

The systems you're talking about are built for a totally different purpose than pro pa systems, which are designed to produce exactly what you send them. 100K (or even 50k) of nexo would blow the pants off the valve system in terms of level and the clarity would be incredible, but thats why it about £6k a box. It's horses for courses, your system warms up the bass, which is what you want. Ive heard big old school reggae type systems and they can be awesome!
I'm a sound engineer (as well as a drumnbass head) and i think the valve sytem is great for what it's for, but no way in hell would i want to mix a band on it. Give me V-dos any day!
