well, u guys are all argueing about speakers biggest and baddest. There is issues regarding the choice of the driver.
theses issues involve cabinet complience, frequency range, power compression factors differing depending on cabinet design and dampining factors of the amplifier used.
The choice of a 24" driver sounds amazing, i know i designed some cabinets for them, but extensive tests showed that the actual weight and acoustic loading upon the pistonic movement of the driver severly hinderd a smooth movement and also increased power compression (heating of coil). i found the 21" beyma driver to blow most of what you say out of the water for quality and power and dB. As for eminence kilomax, i designed a scoop cabinet and tuned the reflex very low and the speaker just tore itself up. the glue came unstuck and the heatsink was shit, all it did was probably help phase distortion. Also these chasis were very poorly made as eminence kept sending drivers with magnet rattle, i beleive they do a magnum range which could be better as i found this driver to drop off by around 6 dB once the coil temprature rstarted to raise.
I know tannoy do, do some big speakers but i couldnt commeny on there performance or people who use them. I did find fane collosus to be a very good driver and built like a brick shit house even if a little in efficient.
