This whole discussion is beginning to make me chuckle! There are some fairly knowledgeable individuals on here and there are also some complete and utter numptys who who have absolutely no idea about anything whatsoever!

As I said in a previous message (which unfortunately fucked up!), C-Audio are no-longer in business and are certainly NEVER used for this kind of extremely high power application. As far as amps go, he could be using one of many brands or a combination. Crest, Crown, and QSC are all likely candidates, or possibly MC2. As for speakers, there are far too many to choose from. "Ministry of Sound" and "Cream" both swear by custom JBL cabinets, whereas Fabric and many others are firmly in Martin Audio territory. EAW and Turbosound are also major players. Although if it was up to me I'd go for the new Funktion-One Resolution series every time!

Where some of you are getting confused is the fact that Dillinja's Valve Sound System has been nominated for "Loudest CLUB Sound System" in the Guiness book of records - it is NOT in direct comparison to the gigantic sound reinforcement systems put together for huge rock concerts put on by the likes of The Rolling Stones or suchlike. To my knowlege, 75,000 watts of power for what is essentially a system designed for "club" use and not full-on concerts is by far more than adequate! Take a look at http://www.funktion-one.com and check out Jamiroquai's Japanese tour on the News page - now that's what I call a rig!

JBL, Still the Best
by morata on Monday 04 August 2003 @03:38PM
I'm musician and I know what I tell, not like a technician or engineer... I play Hammond organ, the real one, the B3 with fabulous tonewheels and I can tell you I've heard many things about the B3, like all synthetisers with great expenders can make the same sound!! so without Leslie!! and today in 2003, more than ever B3 is in front of all the world stages!
JBL it's the same, why we find so much copies of JBl products? for example ARRAY . JBL invent the ARRAY serie in 1989, and after the ARRAY configuration. More than this JBL is in studio since more than 40 years, monitors from JBL are fabulous (remember 4311, and now 4312 more than 30 years after they remake this monitor! or loudspeaker for house (if you have money!)
HLA and VERTEC are cabinets stat of the art.
MARTIN and TURBO SOUND so are good.
BUT THE REAL MANUFACTURER like JBL and ELECTRO VOICE can optimized, because they make ALL.
LISTEN TO VERTEC, and make sound on VERTEC, a dream it is.

JBL beaten by EV?
by MORATA ERIC on Sunday 20 March 2005 @02:57PM
JBL is still simply the best with just after ELECTRO VOICE !
Normal, both are real manufactory while many others only assemble parts from everywhere, not serious !
With JBL no problem, years after years, 20 years after you can find vintage components, fabulous!
The more important is the sound, and here there are experts, they know what is sound;
More than 50 years of experience is the reason.
I'm musician and when I see great stars than ask for JBL since many years there is a reason, it's like HAMMOND organ, there is not the same. HAMMOND is HAMMOND, and JBL so.
At the end, JBL with HARMAN PRO GROUP with great results have more money than anyone company in the world, THE SUCCES and it's not finish !

Here in EUROPE, all great concerts and festivals have sound JBL, HLA or incredible JBL VERTEC, STATE OF THE ART SOUND SYSTEM unrivaled.
