The US stance towards underground events

The US rave scene is currently in a state of transition. Rock and Roll is dying out (finally!) and it seems that nearly everyone knows what a rave party is. Most use the term as a loaded joke, ready to insult with any comment.

The Mountain region (Colorado Arizona & Utah) is still largely unaware of the state of the scene. While we are witnessing big drug and rave busts in California and the midwest, the mountain region is largely unaffected. Accompanied by poor journalism, two Colorado cities: Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins, both have issued formal communications to the underground community that they will not permit raves in city limits.

Last weekend an event was forced to move from a legal, licenced venue just outside of Ft. Collins. The promoters moved it to another legal space in the National Forest. Again it was broken up, and it appears that there was some sort of a strike force set out to stop this one. Some think this attack was spawned by a front page newspaper article condemning raves.

My crew, the trust collective, is still executing events near these cities. All our events are permitted by the forest service, and we have not had a bust in over 4 years. We don't take the political climate lightly though, and we're taking precations to ensure that we don't see something like the criminal justice act here in the states. Keep up to date on trustcrew events trustcrew website (up in a few days)
