So, you're saying that version we all know from the early 90's, really doesn't have any actual lyrics?
He's saying like... "Ooh, nnn-lyza-nn-gain, nn-lyza poola spoon???" lol! At the nearest interpretation of the "snippets". So, what's the original lyrics then? That link you posted isn't even the same song in any way whatsoever.

Actually, the Link has the correct Lyrics.
The song is called "Push the Feeling" by Nightcrawlers. BUT, Those are the Lyrics to the 2003 RMX and he is also correct in saying that the sampled stabs are just bits and pieces of the lyrics.
The real story here is that the Original 1992 Version (Great Jones/Island Records #162-530-620-1) that the original poster was referring to had a full R&B version w/ Vocals on it and different Lyrics than the 2003 remix.
The House Version on the B-side (This is the infamous version we all know and love w/ the Sax in it) Sampled parts of the R&B Vocals from side A and created the Vocal Stabs that we hear.
One part is in Verse 2 where he says "And those who suffer pain, will begin to live their Lives again..."
Part of that was used in the House version. I'm sure we could find where the rest is from in the song....

Many years ago I stumbled across the original 7" of this record in a record shop bargain bin - this doesn't have the "MK" cut up version on the b-side, rather it has something more along r&b lines, called honey something, possibly Honeytree. I vaguely remember thinking it was superior to Push The Feeling On when I last listened to it.
Somewhere along the line a chap called Mark Kinchen got hold of the record, sampled bits and pieces of it, and thus was created the Nightcrawlers sound as most know it. He went on to perform the same kind of remix (cut up vocals over a funky house rhythm) over and over, and was the in vogue remixer for a time in the early-mid 90s. IIRC he turned out quite a nice remix for Jodeci, amongst others.
I don't remember the MK version as early as '92 - possibly '93 or '94, and I came across the original in late '94 or '95. A friend and I played and paused the two versions (MK and R&B) against each other to find out what the lyrics used in the cut-ups were, but it was a few years ago now so I can't remember. If I can find the 7" then I'll post catalogue number and will have a listen and clarify the lyrics we thought were used.
The vocalist in the House version (videos, PAs etc) was the original lead singer of the Nightcrawlers - Jon Reid; he appears on the single cover. I have a gut feeling the band were from Glasgow, tho I can't be sure - possibly there was something on the single that pointed to that.

I make you right Jack, as I recall, John Reid was the driving force behind the original Nightcrawlers. He was scottish and Glasgow chimes nicely. Not sure about the rest of the band though. I remember reading this info in Blues & Soul mag circa 1993 when the Great Jones 12" came out with MK's Dub Of Doom on the flip. It didn't have the RnB track that you mentioned though but I think it was previously released in 1992.

My gosh ive been trying to hunt doen the roots of this track literally for months. I kept getting the normal version of push the feeling on rather than Mark Kinchen's version. Thank you all!
