Try Groovetech. They have an excellent search engine, a superb 'wishlist' notification service, long Real-audio snippets and they really do try to keep their stock levels up.
I have used them for years and have no complaints regarding their service.
ALSO
Try JUNO RECORDS (The Dance Music Resource Pages). They provide an excellent service also. However, the audio files are very short (40 secs or so). BUT, they have loads of stock and deliver FAST!
JUNO are very good if you know exactly what you are looking for.
The two sites above are great for obtaining all styles and genres of dance music from all countries.
If, however you are looking for something a little bit more obscure, say, for instance, an older track that may be deleted, try GEMM RECORDS.
But, if like me you have a love of U.S. House in particular, then you might want to try TWEEKIN RECORDS in San Francisco, they too have an excellent website, a user friendly search engine and fairly good audio samples to try B4 you buy.
You also have the advantage of getting your mitts on brilliant oddball tracks from the smaller U.S. labels that won't necessarily make it to these shores.
Yes, it is ferkin' miles away and to be honest it takes about 1 week for your tunes to arrive.
However,(and here is the clincher, especially if you're a tight fisted git), a U.S. import in the U.K. can cost anything up to £8.50, but when you purchase in the U.S. you obviously only pay domestic rate which, when converted, works out at about four quid and a few pence. On top of this if you are purchasing in the State of California (via internet or otherwise) but you are not a resident of that State, you are not charged TAX on your purchase. So, even taking into consideration the hefty shipping costs you can still make a saving of a pound or so on each record, but you will have to choose STANDARD U.S. AIR MAIL DELIVERY at the appropriate stage during purchase (this option unfortunately is uninsured carriage, so keep your fingers crossed until the postie knocks your door). Also, you will have to purchase 5 or 6 tracks to begin to make a saving on P&P AND do your own sums before you press the final BUY button just to make sure, currency converters are 'two-a-penny'on the internet (I keep one on my desktop for easy reference).
Sorry if this turned out to be a bit of a ramble, I hope you can take something useful from it.
