Im so sorry to hear of Nathans passing. I worked with him and his brother in London a few years ago and only by chance on looking over the internet for his brother found out. I remember him as a very nice chap we got on very well as Im sure he did with most. I will always recall going to a pub with Nathan and his brother Im 6:4 and I was the small one.
I wish my best thoughts to his family he will be missed.

Lessons in friendship |

hey mark.
nathen was a near perfect exsample of what happens to the best of men in the hardest of lifes situations.
Nathen was one of the best freinds anyone could possibley ask for. he was kind and careing and down to earth bloke who would go well out of his way to help you if he could.
I think that nathen taken his life is a lesson to all that you should not take freinds for granted. as i did. I also turned my back on nathen as are paths were joined at first though a mutual intrest of trying new things to experaince, became a everyday occurrence which i did not wish to start doing.
to each his own, and nathen knew this. i wish he was still here so i could sit and joke and talk too my freind and tell him that though out it all, he did not need to end his life. he was far from alone, i have received posts from people as far as new zealand telling me of there shock he is gone, and what a top class bloke he was and will be sorely missed. and not only the people he owed the odd pound off lol. your email means more then that you might think at first to me, i was not there for him as i should of been at the end of his life and i feel that getting the word out and talking to his and are freinds can talk about him to remember him by. in this way i try to repay the guilt i feel. so thank you mark. and here is to nathen. rest in peace. you are missed.

on Sunday 08 February 2009 @10:26AM
Hi Mark,
Well I just had a chat with 1 of my daughters in Oz and she told me about this site. I did not expect to see a message from you there. I have to thank you Mark for writing such a kind letter on this site. It was a very difficult time for us all, and we obviously miss him greatly. I hope you are well, and often wonder how things worked out for you. Please write soon as I would love to catch up with you again.
Take care
Steve

Nathan Hartley, in hindsight |

When I wrote the first above comment on here I did so because I truly believed that all the people that knew and loved him .. being from all walks of life.. would not have the chance to say goodbye to him in time.. the way they would like.. as I would.
I understand that it was far from done the correct way looking back now.. in all fairness I thought i was posting a link on the site www.squatjuice.com like I watched him go on so many times when he was alive still.
so I apologize for not writing it in a respectable way to his family... like I said.. i was trying to inform the possibly 100's of people who knew though his free party scene..
the people .. apart from his family he would class as his true freinds.. from the countless hours of stories.. saga's.. and ballads that I was told over the time i knew him.
it was a last ditched effort to make up a feeling of guilt..
I miss him everyday I live while he does not..
R.I.P
