My turn table is giving off way too much trebble.

I have noticed that I am getting a lot off trebble coming off of my turntable... cd and tapes all play fine....but when I put on a LP it is horrible....I own a dual 1212 mint condition, well maybe not mint since this trebble thing is driving me crazy. It plays fine with the lower tunes like pink floyd, but anything else, like beatles, lenny, led, all the masters....its brutal, ear pearcing. any help would be greatly appreciated. my speakers are fine, my amp is fine...it has something to do with my turntable i think, butI am not sure.
