Have you tried taking the platter off and having a fiddle with the speed adjustments underneath? If that doesn't work a mate of mine in cambridge will do it for dirt cheap - he gave both my decks a complete service and internal clean (a must after years of abuse by K'd up fools in muddy fields)for forty bar. I have no idea how much it costs to send them off to technics but I I'll bet its more expensive than Joe. If you're anywhere near Cambridge drop me a line and I'll put you in touch...
