I contacted HTFR to purchase some of my records what a bunch of jokers...
Moderators note: while I don't really approve of the tone of this posting, it does make the valid point that HTFR seem to undervalue records when buying them and overprice them when they're selling them...
after long thoughts i decided to sell some of my old skool vinyl that i had amassed over the years so i hoght id contact HTFR ............ they looked at my vast collection then gave some bullshit about how the records wouldnt sell but they still wanted to buy them(weird!).... well tey offered me £150 for 400+ 12" and LPs all from 80s an 90s most of them all white label or import however the funniest offer was for my "soul all dayer ep" ... now for those that dont know "Soul All Dayer" was done in 1987 live at acton town hall and hammersmith arena, featuring TNT MAIN ATTRACTION AND BEAT FREAK, this was the FIRST live rave ever done and was relaeased on EP with only 125 copies being produced however many copies went abroad and 26 stayed in britian now ive got 2 copies and HTFR offered me £5.00 each HA HA HA HA wot a fuckin bunch of jockers!!! ... I RECENTLY WENT TO A RECORD FAIR AND THEY WERE VALUED AT £450.00 EACH !!!!!! .. HTFR must think im a cunt!!! ....anyway i told them were to stick there money and left the shop ..... HTFR are WANKERS AND CONNING COCKSUCKERS!!!!

HTFR speak on the 2nd hand business |

Hi,
We have a set price that we pay for normal vinyls and then a set price for rarities (which can be viewed online). We probably pay more than any other UK record store for collections.
That is how the second hand vinyl market works. We are a business and of course have a mark up, records can sit on our shelves and not sell which makes them dead stock.
The best way to make a high price on your vinyls is to sell them one by one individually yourself.
However to get rid of a load of old vinyl that you don't want (lets be honest surely that is the only reason anyone in their right mind would want to sell their precious vinyls!)Is to sell them to a record store. Nothing to do with ripping people off, just running a business!

Hi,
Could you please email me directly and let me know what the problem is so I can sort it out for you. We have a full returns policy with any unwanted items and if you have purchased something on the wrong label that's easy for us to sort out too.
ln@htfr.com
Kind Regards
Lora

Hello
I have had the same experience with HTFR!!
I rang them last week and went down with a couple of hundred records. I went on to their website before hand as advised and picked some choice tunes that were on their most wanted list.
One record they were selling in the shop for £19.99 and there were 6 or 7 others on their list where they were offering £6 each.
I was offered £55 for the lot!!!!!!!
When I said no they offered £75!!!!
Maybe it was because they new I'd travelled from Manchester and thought I wouldn't be bothered...
Sorry HTFR I agree with the conning B*******S sentiment!!!
