Sanctuary in Milton Keynes shutting down
NEWS Posted by gareth s on Wednesday 28 April 2004, 11:31PM

For those who don't know, the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes is shutting down to make way for the new Wimbledon FC ground.

Enjoy it while you can. I think it is due to close in the summer.
After Milwaukees in Rushden this was the next best thing. Fond memories of Dreamscape 1-4, The Prodigy, Gods Kitchen, Helter Skelter.... happy days...

A fond farewell to the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes
by steve collins on Monday 12 July 2004 @11:01AM
Well its happened, the last event took place on sat and boi, it was a big one. opening at 5, this was set to be an almighty event put on once more by the slammin crew. me n me crew got there for ten n wouldd have been queing for time had we not spied someone had sneakly opened one of the exits from inside the fasttrax wraehouse, wat a touch! once inside, it was impressive, they had gone to town with the set up n layout. In there for ten then as promised the big top tent had skibba, andy c and hype b2b2b. The lightin, sound quality and general set up for this tent was phat, reminded me of the good old days. The sets were phat all in all. Skibba done us proud, there from half ten til half 6, yes yes, he knows when to come through! When i think, im 23 and i went there for my first time when i was 13 to an evolution event (over 14's on from half 6 til 1). thats ten years ago now, fu*k, where has all that time go. i had a wicked night, it really was the sanctuary at its best. I know there is a new venue due in Milton Keynes this autumn but slammin have gone to shepton mallet for september, so where will it be? Also why knock down Denbigh North? there are so many possible other sites, i will never forget the layout of the complex, the overfull carpark, the windy road leading to the warehouses, the guaranteed long queues and the almighty building, the sanctuary. Truly an end of an era!!!
