Sound dezign released the pumped up trancy version of this song in 2001, its been released many times before that, its one of those songs where you hear 2 and they never sound alike, there are that many versions and mixes.
the mix from "about 2" is a good one. also the c&c music factory mix.
the original is 100% correct in that it is lisa lisa and the cult jam "let the beat at em"
if they had kept that oriinal title, it wouldnt be so hard to find the original.
If you search those lyrics onine, you will just find sound de-zign, happiness.
This is the first forum I have found regarding it that has correct information. Others say the original is sound de-zign from 2001, weird really as it was played in the clubs by dj's including myself, all over europe in the 1990s.

Can you guys help me? There's a song with the beat from "Let the beat hit 'em" but there's no woman singing, just a bunch of rappers... (and no, it's not the geto boys “My Mind Playin’ Tricks On Me") and everything just seems like a big wild party.

does anyone have a clue? I've been looking for this tune for years. I first heard it in 92/93.

Please help me find the original song that is sampled in sound dezign - happeiness...
its the bit with the guy speaking. the propper one says more stuff...
In the beginning he created the groove

DJ James, i'm also looking for that original song the whole lyrics (or what i think they are) are bellow. i got them from the quality mix of Red Carpet - Alright that Eric Morillo played at Radio One Live @ the New Space Terrace, but only the start of the lyrics are on the Sound De-Zign one.

have been tryin to get hold of a version of this myself thats been in the clubs past few months .. asked the dj in the club load sof times but i always forget..will ask saturday.... although my funky house dj friend does a fantastic dirty south remix version of the original by sound de-zign ... just talked him into putting it onto disc.. happy to pass it on if anyone wants x
